EasyCommission is a simple and easy sales commission solution. It is designed to handle some of the basic commission needs for small businesses.

EasyCommission is a web hosted commission solution that allows companies to set up their commission calculations and share the results with their reps. Reps can access the application over the web, wherever they are.

01. Edition Comparison

EasyCommission is offered in three editions, to meet the needs of different customers. They are Free, Economy and Regular editions.  Pricing for these editions are available here.

 
Free Edition

The Free Edition is a complete application that has the basic features necessary to calculate commissions. Some advanced features are not available in this edition. It is restricted to five users per company. Customer support is not available for this edition.

 

It is designed for customers with substantial cash flow issues as well as for customer who first want to make sure that their basic commission needs will be take care of. It can be easily upgraded to either of the premium editions, and all data and functionality will be preserved as part of the upgrade.

The resources required to provide the Free Edition are paid for by the presentation of advertisements to the users as they use the applications. Advertisements are presented at the top and right side of the application.

The Free Edition is free to use forever and customer is not required to upgrade to premium Editions based on any time limitations.

Economy Edition

The Economy Edition includes all the features available in the free edition, plus a few additions. The Report Designer is made available in this edition to allow users to create their own reports. Customer support is available on a per incident basis and it will be charged. Economy edition has 20 user limit.

This Edition is useful for companies that have more than 5 users or need to have flexible reporting capabilities.

Marketing advertisements will be presented to the users to defray the costs of resources.

This Edition can also be upgraded to the Regular Edition, but cannot be downgraded. All user data and functionality is preserved when upgrading.

 
Regular Edition

The Regular Edition is a full-featured edition. There is no limitation on the number of users in this edition. All features are available in this edition, including advanced features such as Page Designer. Customer support is included.

This Edition is useful for companies that have need for all the features and do not want full customer support.

Customer will have to pay fees per user, but that is reduced by the number of users. No marketing advertisements will be presented.

02. Features

EasyCommission is designed to offer features used by the majority of small businesses. Not all features listed are fully available for every edition being offered. Some are only available in the premium editions.

 
Features Explanations
Users
Users of the system can be Reps, Administrators and Managers

Users can have their own access levels and sign-ons. Reps are limited to view their data only.  Security can be modified for each individual. Individuals can be allowed to enter data such as customers or transactions, or allowed only to view data.

The Administrator role is generally in charge of managing the commission application and making commissions get calculated and paid.

Security
Data is encrypted and secure
All customer data is encrypted while communicating over the web using strong encryption technologies. Users can access only with authenticated email addresses and passwords.
Transactions
Sales and other data can be entered into the system.
Various kinds of transactions can be entered in the system including Sales. Typical transactional data can be Sales Orders, Invoices, Payments, Appointments Made, Premiums, etc.
Adjustment transactions can be entered.
Sales Credit
A sale can be credited to a rep using rules.
Sales are entered as transactions in the system. A credit rule can be established to decide which rep gets credit for the sale. The rules can be: a) Sales to Customer ABC always get credited to Rep Randy Brown. b) Sales of Product Nuts always get credited to Rep Jane Green.
Split Credit and Override
A sale can be credited to multiple people using rules.
Any transaction can be credited to two people. It can be credited to two sales people or to a rep and a manager. A percentage of the sales amount can be credited to each person. It can also be treated as an override with both individuals getting 100% credit.
Flat Commissions
A flat commission rate can be used for a Rep.
Each rep can be set to have their own commission rate(s). Commission rates can be a flat % of performance or can be a flat amount.
Varying Commission rates
Commission rates can verify by product or customer.

Commission rates can be set to be different by product or customer, by setting appropriate commission rules.

Commission rates can be flexibly decided by using Excel like calculation formulas.

Customer Information
Customer information can be maintained in the system.
Customer data such as contact information can be maintained in the system.
Commission Calendar
Commissions can be paid at different period frequencies.
Commissions can be paid at various frequencies: weekly, bi-weekly, twice-monthly, monthly, quarterly, annual, etc.
Once a period is completed, the transactions are closed and will not create duplicate commissions.
Commission Statements
Commission statements show all detail calculations.
There is a commission statement for each rep for each period. It shows all the detailed commission calculations. Historical commission statements will be maintained in the system.
Reports
Standard reports are available
A set of standard reports are available in the system.
Advanced Features  
Report Designer
Users can create own new reports
All the data in the system can be reported on, using a flexible easy to use report writer. User can select the data and the columns to report on.
Query Tool
Users can create own SQL queries.
All the data in the system can be queried using SQL statements.
New Data Tables
Users can create their own data tables.
Users can create their own tables, in addition to what is available in the system.
Page Designer
Users can create their own screens.
Users can create their own pages based on tables. These pages can be available list screens or view/edit screens

03. Product Comparison

EasyCommission is designed to address only the most common needs of small businesses in the simplest manner possible. The requirement is to try and make it as easy as possible for customers to use the application without costly help from the vendor.  This is a challenge, because sales commissions are very unique for every business. Creating a standardized application that is easy to use is a difficult exercise. We are always looking for feedback to get closer to this ideal.

 

Due to this, we have omitted many advanced commissions functionality that some businesses use.  We market another application called QCommission that can be provided either as on-premises or hosted application for individual customers. This is a more complex and complete application. It has features such as QuickBooks integration. The costs are higher and services are always required initially to go live.

 

We are listing that product here for customers that are not satisfied with the EasyCommission offering. EasyCommission users cannot upgrade to QCommission directly, though we can offer upgrade services on demand.
